The Application & Placement Process

At Psychological Service Dogs, Inc., we take a compassionate and personalized approach to helping people with invisible disabilities find the right service dog.

What makes us different?

  • We’re one of the only non-profit service dog organizations to exclusively use paid and professionally trained service dog trainers.
  • We don’t use expensive breeders—we help you find the right rescue dog, or we can evaluate a dog already in your home.
  • We utilize therapists in the community so you’re always given a referall for excellent therapeutic professionals should the need arise.
  • Providing trained service dogs is 100% of our mission—it’s all we do.

What to Expect

We strive to make the process of finding a dog as affordable and timely as possible for all our clients. Our program is often a fraction of the cost and time required by comparable organizations.

  5. Dog Selection Support
    • We’ll assist you in seeking out and adopting a rescue dog that meets your unique needs.
  6. Personalized Training Program Begins

Getting Started

We can’t wait to connect with you! Before applying, here are a few important factors to consider:

  • Can you travel to training sessions in the Orlando area either 1-2 times a week, depending on need, for approximately 1 hour at a time or longer?
  • Can you commit to a training process that may last 4 months to 1 year?
    • Training length varies, but frequent, consistent practice often shortens the timeline.

Our team can help you determine whether a psychological service dog is the right fit for you—and guide you every step of the way.
