Our Training Approach

At Psychological Service Dogs, Inc., we’re proud to offer one of the most personalized and professional service dog training programs in the region. As one of the only nonprofit organizations that utilizes paid, professionally trained service dog trainers, so that every client receives a dog prepared to meet their specific psychological, emotional, or intellectual needs.

Our trainers bring 10+ years of experience—often much more—and are committed to preparing both the dog and handler for long-term success.

Training is delivered in three key phases, and typically spans 4 months to 1 year, depending on the dog, the handler, and the consistency of practice. We provide lifetime support to ensure your partnership continues to thrive long after training ends.

What to Expect

  • In-home sessions and on-location training in real-world settings
  • Hands-on guidance from experienced trainers working directly with you and your dog
  • Training takes place in our primary service areas in the Greater Orlando area, currently Casselberry and Lake Nona
  • Expect to attend 1–2 sessions per week, about 1 hour each

Frequent, consistent practice between sessions can shorten the overall training timeline.
