Service Dog Tasks & Abilities
To qualify under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a psychological service dog must be individually trained to perform target specific tasks that directly address your needs and disability.
SOME EXAMPLE OF THESE TASKS ARE:
- Blocking – Inserting itself between any unwelcome attention
- Alert – Recognizing and responding to an oncoming panic attack before it escalates
- Assist – Guiding the handler to a safe space when needed
- Remind – Prompting important daily actions, such as taking medication
- Respond – Interrupting compulsive or harmful behaviors

At Psychological Service Dogs, Inc., we work with you to determine the most effective tasks and train your service dog accordingly
—so you get the personalized support you need.
